From Bridgehampton, the Turnpike is the bay-side cut. From East Hampton, looping back west wastes 15-25 minutes.

Sunday westbound is its own jam: NY-27 through the villages, then the LIE toward the city. A 6 p.m. Montauk departure can be a 5-hour Manhattan arrival. Dispatch that leaves at 2 p.m. Sunday is a different product from a 6 p.m. Sunday.

HTO, Gabreski, and village load-ins

East Hampton Town Airport (HTO) sits north of the village, not on Montauk Highway. A chauffeur who waits on Main Street while the tail number is still on final is already in the wrong place. The local hop is short (engine $170 sedan); HTO to Montauk is the longer South Fork run ($240 sedan). Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK) in Westhampton Beach is a different field with a different FBO curb. Write the ICAO code in the reservation. Book the East Hampton Airport car service page when the wheels are at HTO, not when the house is in Sag Harbor.

Village hotels are not interchangeable curbs. The American Hotel on Main Street in Sag Harbor loads on a tight bay-town block; a Sprinter that could sit at an estate driveway will not sit there through a Saturday dinner turn. Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton and the Maidstone in East Hampton want a named porte-cochere, not a pin dropped on NY-27. Capri Southampton and 1770 House are different staging notes again.
