Dallas Airport Car Service: Complete DFW & Love Field Guide

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field are separate airports with different terminals, pickup locations, transit connections, rental systems, and return approaches. Start with the actual airport code and flight, then compare the complete trip to the exact Dallas–Fort Worth destination.

Flying in or out of Dallas? Our Dallas airport transfers and black car service in Dallas pages cover vehicles, all-in pricing and how pickups work.

Airport choice: choose the flight that fits the full itinerary. DFW offers five terminals and direct rail at Terminals A and B; Love Field has one passenger terminal and connects to DART rail by Love Link bus. Neither airport is universally faster for every address or schedule.

DFW: Five Terminals and Terminal-Specific Curbside

DFW's ground-transport directory lists authorized limousine providers but does not state one universal limousine pickup curb. Confirm the terminal pickup instructions with the accepted provider. The same directory places app-based transportation on the upper-level curbside and taxis on the lower level of Terminals A, B, C, D, and E. Courtesy vehicles and shared-ride providers use lower-level curbside locations. These assignments are category-specific and do not establish a limousine point.

Use the actual arriving terminal and baggage-claim door in the booking. If the arrival gate changes, confirm where the traveler will exit rather than assuming the original terminal remains correct. DFW's current ground-transport page is the source for taxi and category information. Terminal curbs are for active loading and unloading; personal greeters can use one-hour terminal parking or the north Cell Phone Lot under the airport's published rules.

Love Field: Valet Pavilion, Garage C, and Lower-Level Exceptions

Love Field moved its transportation-network pickup operation in January 2025. Its current page directs app rides other than Alto to the valet pavilion and taxis, private luxury vehicles, and limousines for hire to Garage C Level 1. Drop-offs use the upper-level curb near ticketing. Prearranged limousine service remains required.

Accessible pickups remain on the lower-level curb when selected or arranged through the provider. The airport explains that Uber and Lyft use different app steps and that curbside staff dispatch accessible taxi or on-demand service. Follow the current Love Field transportation directions and ask airport staff for assistance when needed. Do not generalize the accessible lower-curb exception to every standard pickup.

Public Transit Works Differently at Each Airport

DFW publishes public rail stations at Terminals A and B. DART's Orange Line serves Terminal A, while TEXRail serves Terminal B for travel toward Fort Worth. A traveler arriving at another terminal needs an airport terminal connection before boarding the selected rail service. Confirm whether Skylink is available inside security or Terminal Link is needed outside security, and check the rail operator's current schedule and service alerts.

Love Field does not have an airport rail platform. DART's Love Link bus connects the terminal with Inwood/Love Field rail station for Green and Orange Line connections. The official airport page places Love Link pickups at either far end of lower-level Ground Transportation. Check the current Love Link instructions, including the fare needed after the airport-to-station segment and the complete onward route.

Rental Cars: Shared DFW System, Company-Specific Love Field Shuttles

DFW uses a consolidated Rental Car Center near the airport's south entrance. All rental customers use the airport's shared purple shuttle from designated stops outside each terminal; the shared shuttle serves every rental company. On return, drivers go to the Rental Car Center and board the shuttle for the correct terminal. Add the facility return, rental closeout, shuttle wait, ride, and terminal entry to the departure plan.

Love Field's rental counters are in the hallway leading to baggage claim, while each rental company provides shuttle service from the transportation lower level. This is not the same shared system as DFW. Confirm the company's facility, return address, hours, fuel or charging terms, toll handling, and shuttle instructions through the Love Field rental page and the company.

Accessibility: Confirm the Airport, Terminal, and Provider

DFW states that accessible transportation is available between terminals and the Rental Car Center and that its rental shuttles are accessible. Airport accessibility does not confirm that a booked passenger vehicle meets a traveler's needs. Provide mobility-device dimensions, transfer needs, people, bags, and assistance needed from the terminal meeting point to the vehicle.

Love Field recommends arranging wheelchair and terminal assistance through the airline. Its accessible ride pickup remains on the lower-level curb and must be selected or arranged with the provider. Keep airline wheelchair service and ground-vehicle accessibility as two separate confirmations.

Compare Airports With the Actual Destination

Use the destination building and entrance, not a broad label such as “downtown,” “Plano,” “Las Colinas,” “Fort Worth,” or “Arlington.” Compare the available flight, scheduled arrival, terminal-release steps, ground mode, current traffic, tolls, event access, and return flight. A geographically closer airport may still be a worse choice when the flight schedule or final connection does not fit.

Avoid fixed route times. Dallas–Fort Worth traffic, construction, weather, terminal changes, and event controls can change the full trip. For a multi-stop day, list every address in order and identify the contact who can approve timing or destination changes.

Booking a Detailed Drivers Dallas Airport Trip

Provide DFW or DAL explicitly, the operating airline, flight number and arrival date, passenger phone, exact destination and entrance, passenger and bag counts, accessibility needs, requested vehicle class, stops, and return plan. The written confirmation should contain the accepted airport, itinerary, and meeting instruction.

Airport pickups include 45 minutes of complimentary waiting for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights, starting when the flight actually lands. We track your flight. A cancellation, diversion, replacement flight, or airport change still requires an itinerary update. Flight tracking does not automatically approve a move between DFW and Love Field. Overtime is billed for the actual additional minutes at the applicable per-minute rate for your selected vehicle.

Hourly service normally has a 3-hour minimum. A longer event minimum applies only when stated in the confirmed booking. The all-in quoted rate includes gratuity, and an additional tip after service is optional. Sedan and SUV bookings receive a full refund when cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Sprinter bookings receive a full refund when cancelled at least 72 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellations inside the applicable notice period are charged in full.
