The airport is built on two main levels at the terminals: Departures above, Arrivals and baggage claim below. Your sedan or SUV chauffeur meets you inside on the Arrivals level, usually at the carousel for your flight, then walks you to the car. Cell phone lot
SFO's free Cell Phone Waiting Lot is for friends and family: SFO says commercial vehicles are not permitted there and the maximum wait is 60 minutes. A reserved chauffeur does not stage there, which is one reason the inside greeting matters.
Curbside
SFO curbs are for active loading only. If you asked for a curbside pickup instead of the inside greeting, call or text the chauffeur only once everyone has their bags, and they pull up to the confirmed door.
