Baltimore Event Transportation: Orioles, Ravens & Preakness

Baltimore event transportation depends on the specific venue and event-day street plan. Oriole Park and M&T Bank Stadium share the Camden Yards Sports Complex, but their parking, drop-off, rideshare, and gate instructions differ. Preakness also requires a year-specific venue check: the 2026 race moved to Laurel Park during the Pimlico redevelopment.

Choose the mode from the event plan

Oriole Park at Camden Yards

The Orioles transportation page says official lots are permit-only and strongly recommends advance parking. A small number of day-of-game spaces may be available in specified lots, subject to availability. Tailgating is not permitted in Orioles lots, and the city begins outbound traffic operations at the start of the seventh inning.

The Orioles list three drop-off areas: the east side of the Warehouse breezeway next to Gate A, Home Plate Plaza on the Russell Street service drive next to Gate D, and the north end of that service drive next to Gate F. Only vehicles serving guests with disabilities may stop curbside in the designated areas; other vehicles should use the event's general instructions.

Oriole Park does not designate rideshare zones on the immediate surrounding streets. Its current page identifies Pratt Street near the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor as the closest pickup and drop-off zone. This is a walk from the ballpark, so a group should account for weather, bags, children, and mobility before choosing it.

M&T Bank Stadium for Ravens games

The Ravens parking page says stadium lots open four and a half hours before kickoff and are sold out to permit holders for Ravens games. Fans without a permit are directed to official downtown parking or public transit. Accessible spaces in Lots B, C, and R are first come, first served and require the appropriate state-issued placard or plate with its registered owner in the vehicle.

For pregame rideshare, the Ravens list Warner Street south of the stadium, Hanover Street to the east, and Pratt Street to the north. Their postgame rideshare guidance gives walking directions toward Pratt or Lombard Streets, Warner Street near the casino, or Federal Hill. The team explicitly describes these as suggested areas rather than designated pickup zones, so a booked driver and passenger still need a lawful, mutually confirmed meeting point.

The Ravens fan guide also lists a complimentary gameday shuttle from Locust Point, Federal Hill, and Pigtown for home games, with event-specific hours and stadium drop points. Check the current guide rather than assuming the service, route, or hours carry over to concerts or other stadium events.

Light RailLink and other transit

MDOT MTA's current Light RailLink stop list includes Camden Station/Camden Yards and Hamburg Street. The Ravens identify the Light Rail stop outside Gate B; MDOT's sequence places Hamburg Street immediately south of Camden Station. Choose the stop for the actual venue and gate, then check the travel date for service changes.

A transit plan can also involve local bus, Metro Subway, or MARC, but those names do not make every trip direct. Build the itinerary from the actual origin, transfer point, accessible path, and scheduled return. For a simultaneous stadium event or major concert, recheck both team and MTA alerts before departure.

Preakness requires a year-specific venue

The official Preakness FAQ states that Preakness 151 took place at Laurel Park on May 16, 2026, with the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes on May 15. Pimlico was closed for redevelopment, and the FAQ says Preakness is scheduled to return there in 2027.

A reusable “Preakness pickup at Pimlico” instruction was therefore wrong for 2026 and should not be rolled forward. Confirm the current venue, credentialed parking or drop-off rules, ticket entrance, and departure plan from the event organizer each year. Laurel Park is in Laurel, Maryland, rather than at the Camden Yards complex or Pimlico.

BWI arrivals and rail distinctions

For guests arriving by air, a Baltimore airport transfer should use the flight, terminal, passenger phone, bags, actual venue, and gate-entry deadline. BWI's official Light Rail page places Light RailLink immediately outside the lower-level terminal near Concourse E.

The BWI Rail Station serving MARC and Amtrak is a separate facility reached by the airport's free station shuttle from the terminal. Do not send a rail passenger to the Light Rail platform when the ticket says MARC or Amtrak. Conversely, do not add a station shuttle step to a trip that actually boards Light RailLink at the terminal.

Downtown concerts, theaters, and private events

For an arena, theater, convention, waterfront concert, or hotel event, start with the venue's own transportation and accessibility page. A rule from Oriole Park or M&T Bank Stadium does not automatically apply at CFG Bank Arena, the Hippodrome, the Baltimore Convention Center, or an Inner Harbor property.

A useful event brief names the street entrance, ticketed door, passenger contact, mobility needs, bag policy, show start and expected finish, and the person allowed to change the trip. For multiple venues or a hosted group, set the stop order and dwell time before confirming an event transportation plan.

A longer event minimum applies only when stated in the confirmed booking. Overtime is billed for the actual additional minutes at the applicable per-minute rate for your selected vehicle.

For an airport pickup, Airport pickups include 45 minutes of complimentary waiting for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights, starting when the flight actually lands. The confirmation should also state the applicable Sedan and SUV bookings receive a full refund when cancelled at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Sprinter bookings receive a full refund when cancelled at least 72 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellations inside the applicable notice period are charged in full. If your flight is cancelled, there is no cancellation charge. These windows apply unless your quote says otherwise: event bookings and high-demand dates can carry a different window because of event pricing and availability, and your quote will state it.
