Orlando International Airport serves 50+ million passengers a year — most headed to Disney World, Universal, or the Convention Center. With two main terminal buildings and a brand-new Terminal C that opened in 2022, MCO can be confusing. This guide covers every terminal, every major airline, and the fastest way to reach every Orlando destination.
Disney's Magical Express Has Ended
Disney's Magical Express — the free airport-to-resort bus service — was permanently discontinued on January 1, 2022. Walt Disney World guests must now arrange their own transportation from MCO. Mears Connect offers a paid shuttle ($39/adult round-trip), or book a private car service for a flat-rate, door-to-door transfer with your driver meeting you at baggage claim.
MCO has a unique hub-and-spoke design. The main terminal building (Level 3 for departures, Level 2 for arrivals/baggage claim, Level 1 for ground transportation) connects to four airside terminals — A, B, C, and D — via automated people mover (APM) trains. You clear security in the main terminal, then ride the APM to your gate.
APM trains run every 3–5 minutes and are free after security.

Terminal C is MCO's newest terminal, completed in September 2022 at a cost of $2.8 billion. It was specifically designed to relieve congestion in Terminals A and B and to give Southwest Airlines — MCO's largest carrier by flights — a dedicated, purpose-built home.
The terminal features 30+ gates, a dedicated TSA security checkpoint, and over 130 food, beverage, and retail options — a massive upgrade from the cramped Airside C/D gates Southwest previously occupied.
Southwest is MCO's #1 carrier by frequency. The old Southwest gates in Airside C/D were chronically overcrowded. The new Terminal C provides:
Airside 1 handles United Airlines domestic and Copa Airlines international connections. United's presence makes MCO a gateway for hub connections to Newark (EWR), Chicago O'Hare, Houston IAH, Denver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Copa provides the primary connection to Panama City (PTY) for South American transit.
Delta is MCO's dominant full-service carrier, operating frequent nonstops to its Atlanta (ATL) hub as well as direct service to New York (JFK/LGA), Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, Seattle, Los Angeles, and key international destinations via connections. The Delta Sky Club is located in Airside 2.
American Airlines operates from Airside 3, with significant connecting traffic to its DFW, Miami, Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare, and Philadelphia hubs. AA also operates several international routes including to the UK (London Heathrow) and Caribbean.
JetBlue is a major presence in Airside 4, operating nonstops to New York JFK (its main hub), Boston, Fort Lauderdale, and transatlantic routes to London. Alaska provides West Coast connections. Spirit focuses on ultra-low-cost routes from MCO.
