Concourse D is the heart of American Airlines' operation at MIA and one of the busiest airline concourses in the Western Hemisphere. American Airlines uses Miami as its primary gateway to Latin America — more AA flights go to South America, Central America, and the Caribbean from MIA than from any other US airport.

Concourse E handles American Airlines international arrivals (passengers fly into E, then connect through D) and operates as the home for major Latin American carriers including LATAM, Copa, Avianca, and Aeromexico.

Concourse J is MIA's South Terminal and home to all major domestic carriers except American. Delta, United, Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, and Frontier all operate from Concourse J. The South Terminal has its own check-in area, security lanes, and ground transportation.
Important: Concourse J (South Terminal) is a separate check-in and security from the North Terminal (Concourses D–H). If you're flying Delta, United, or Southwest, enter the South Terminal. There is no airside connection between Concourse J and Concourses D–H — transferring between them requires exiting and re-clearing security.

Taxis ($35–$55) are metered and available at the taxi stand on the lower level. Public transit (Metrorail + Metrobus) costs about $4.50 total but takes about 60 minutes.
