New Terminal 1 Construction (2022-2028)
San Diego Airport's Terminal 1 is undergoing a complete $3.4 billion rebuild. The old T1 facility was built in the 1970s and was significantly undersized for current passenger volumes. The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority approved the New T1 project to add 19 new gates, expanded baggage systems, better curbside access, and modern food/retail concessions.
