Sanford airport transportation means getting from Orlando Sanford International (SFB), about 27 road miles north of downtown Orlando, to wherever the trip really starts. Detailed Drivers meets you inside at baggage claim, tracks your flight, and drives direct to Disney World (43 miles), Universal (36), Port Canaveral (67), or MCO (34) for one all-in price.
This page is the Sanford airport guide inside our Orlando car service hub. If you land at the main airport instead, the MCO car service page covers Terminals A, B, and C. Cruise travelers can compare this trip with the shorter MCO to Port Canaveral transportation run, and groups of seven or more usually book a Sprinter van rental in Orlando so everyone rides together.
Airport details checked against the official SFB airport maps and SFB taxis, shuttles and rides pages in October 2026.
Every price below comes from the same rate engine that runs our booking widget, applied to routed road miles from the SFB terminal. The figure is the whole charge for the vehicle, not per person: a family of five in a First Class SUV pays the SUV price once. Drive times show the free-flow low end and a normal-traffic high end; Friday afternoons, holiday weekends, and summer storms push past them.
| Route from SFB | Business Sedan | First Class SUV | Sprinter Van (up to 14) | Distance · timing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SFB → Walt Disney World (Disney Springs / Lake Buena Vista resorts) | $360 | $450 | $910 | 43 mi · 60-80 min · SR 417, then SR 408 / I-4 |

| SFB → Universal Orlando hotels | $330 | $400 | $840 | 36 mi · 50-70 min · SR 417, SR 408, I-4 |
| SFB → International Drive / Orange County Convention Center | $340 | $410 | $860 | 38 mi · 55-75 min · SR 417, I-4 |

All-in estimates: gratuity, tax & card processing included, rounded to the nearest $10. Toll charges on SR 417 and SR 528 are confirmed at booking. As-directed time (a stop for groceries, a detour to the beach, a wait while you check in) runs $120/hr Business Sedan, $150/hr First Class SUV, and $240/hr Sprinter Van, with a 3-hour minimum. The Mercedes S-Class is available on request.
The return trip is priced the same way in the other direction. A Disney resort to SFB departure is $450 in the SUV, the same engine estimate as the arrival.
Sanford is farther from the parks than MCO, so the choice of ride matters more here. A long trip in an app car is still a long trip, and the price is set at the moment you request it, when a full Allegiant flight is requesting at the same time.
Our transportation service is built for the long run from Sanford. Professional chauffeurs, not app drivers, handle every trip; the price is quoted before you fly with no hidden fees added at the end; and the same company answers the phone if a flight changes. For travelers who also use Orlando International Airport, the experience is the same at both airports, so a trip that lands at SFB and leaves from MCO feels like one booking.
| Option | What happens at SFB | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Detailed Drivers private chauffeur | Flight tracked, chauffeur waiting inside at your baggage claim, car in the pickup zone across the street, one all-in price ($360 sedan to Disney) set before you fly. | Families, cruise passengers, groups, late arrivals. |
| Uber / Lyft | Pickup across the street from the terminal. Price is set at request time and moves with demand; a car big enough for a family plus luggage is a separate, larger request. | Solo travelers with a carry-on. |
| Taxi | The airport lists Yellow Cab Company of Orlando. Metered fare on a 43-mile Disney run, no flight tracking, and you wait in the same pickup zone. | Short hops to Sanford or Lake Mary. |
| Shared shuttle | Leaves from the same zone on the shuttle company's timetable, with stops at other hotels before yours. Priced per seat, which adds up fast for a family. | Single travelers with a flexible arrival. |
| SunRail (commuter rail) / transit | No rail at the terminal. The SunRail Sanford station is on SR 46, west of the airport, and the line heads toward downtown Orlando, not the parks. | Weekday commuters headed downtown. |
| Rental car / driving yourself | Counters in the Welcome Center and the Alamo building, then toll roads, I-4 traffic, and resort or park parking fees all week. | Travelers planning day trips every day. |
Two adults, three kids, five checked bags and a stroller. One First Class SUV, $450 all-in, from Baggage Claim 2 to the resort lobby in about an hour and change. Ask for car seats at booking and we confirm them for your date.
An evening Allegiant arrival, two bags each. A Business Sedan to the Universal Orlando hotels is $330 all-in; if the flight lands 40 minutes late, the chauffeur is still at claim and the price has not changed.
A reunion group flying in the day before a Port Canaveral sailing. One Sprinter Van straight to the port is $1,120 all-in for up to 14 people, with bags loaded once and unloaded once at the terminal curb.
A regional office visit off the Lake Mary Boulevard corridor, eight miles away. A Business Sedan is $170 all-in, or keep the car as-directed at $120/hr for a day of meetings.
The drive is simple once you are on it. From the terminal the car reaches the SR 417 toll road within a few minutes and runs south past Oviedo and the University of Central Florida area, around the east side of Orlando. Most trips then cut west on SR 408 and I-4, or stay on SR 417 to its southern end near Disney property, depending on the resort and the traffic that afternoon. Either way it is about 43 road miles to the Disney Springs and Lake Buena Vista resorts and about 49 to the resorts around Magic Kingdom. Plan on an hour or a little more.
What makes the Disney World transfer from Sanford different from the MCO to Disney World transfer is the distance and the timing. Many Allegiant routes into Sanford run on select days rather than daily, and arrivals often bunch together, so the pickup zone can get busy fast. A reserved car avoids the scramble: your chauffeur is assigned before you leave home, watches the real arrival, and is standing at your carousel with a name sign when you walk down.
Good Disney World transportation from Sanford comes down to three things: a car waiting when you land, room for the luggage a family vacation brings, and a direct route to your hotel. Shared vans solve the cost per seat but not the stops, and rideshare apps solve the speed but not the space. A reserved private car covers all of it in one booking, which is why so many families and vacationers flying Allegiant choose it for the first and last day of the trip. If you are still comparing airports, our MCO, Disney, and Universal transportation guide walks through the same trip from the main Orlando airport.
Drop-off is at your resort lobby or front entrance, not a shared bus stop. If you are staying off property in Kissimmee, Celebration, or a vacation home near the parks, give us the address and the engine prices the actual miles. Want a grocery stop on the way? Tell us at booking; a short stop is added as-directed time so the chauffeur waits while you shop.
Universal Orlando and its hotels sit about 36 road miles from SFB, usually 50 to 70 minutes via SR 417, SR 408, and I-4. International Drive and the Orange County Convention Center are about 38 miles. If you are comparing an MCO arrival, see the MCO to Universal Orlando car service page. Conference attendees who fly Allegiant into Sanford often pair the arrival with our executive car service in Orlando for the show days, so the same company handles the airport run and the hotel to convention center loop. For a quieter arrival with a premium sedan or SUV, our black car service in Orlando uses the same chauffeurs and the same engine pricing.
Orlando Sanford runs one terminal building, which keeps the meet simple. Gates 1 to 16 are upstairs on Level 2. Domestic flights come down to Baggage Claim 1, 2, or 3, in the central and east part of the terminal. International arrivals, including Arajet flights, clear Customs first and claim bags at Baggage Claim 6 to 8, farther down the east side. Your chauffeur waits inside at the claim area for your flight, helps with the bags, and walks you across the street to the pickup zone east of the Welcome Center, where rideshare and taxis also load.
Your confirmation carries the chauffeur's name and contact number. If your bag is slow or Customs takes longer than usual, send a text; wait time at the airport is built into the service and you will not be rushed. If you would rather meet at the curb, say so and the chauffeur will call when you are ready.
Yes, and plenty of cruise passengers do, because Allegiant flies to Sanford from many smaller cities. The route runs about 67 road miles: SR 417 south to the SR 528 Beachline, then east across the Indian River and Banana River to the port. Allow 85 to 105 minutes. The transfer is $500 in a Business Sedan, $610 in a First Class SUV, and $1,120 in a Sprinter Van, all-in. Give us the ship name and sail date at booking so the chauffeur goes to the correct terminal, and check your cruise documents or the Canaveral Port Authority site for port details before you travel.
Be honest about timing with a same-day flight. Allegiant schedules leave little slack, and if a morning flight slips, a 90-minute drive leaves less room to absorb it than the 46-mile run from MCO. Flying in the day before and staying near the port or in Orlando is the safer plan, and we will say so when you book. On the way home, book the port to SFB return at the same time, timed to your debarkation group.
The Space Coast rewards a few extra hours. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is about 49 road miles from SFB, and a pre-cruise afternoon there books as a 6-hour as-directed day: $710 Business Sedan, $870 First Class SUV, or $1,410 Sprinter Van, with the chauffeur waiting throughout and dropping you at your port hotel at the end. For a beach stay with an MCO arrival, compare our MCO to Cocoa Beach car service page.
Match the vehicle to the bags, not only the people. Theme-park trips carry more luggage than business trips, and cruise trips carry the most. The Business Sedan takes 3 passengers and 3 large bags, which suits a couple or a solo traveler. The First Class SUV takes 6 passengers and 6 bags and is the usual pick for a family of four or five with a stroller. The Sprinter Van carries up to 14 passengers and 12 bags, and it often costs less than two SUVs for a large family or a wedding party landing together. The Mercedes S-Class is available on request for a VIP arrival.
Group travel is where the vehicle choice matters most. Small groups of up to six fit one SUV. A large group of seven to fourteen (a family reunion, wedding parties flying in for a Central Florida ceremony, a youth sports team, or business travelers headed to the same conference) rides together in one Sprinter, so nobody waits at the curb for a second car and everyone reaches the destination at the same time. Tell us the group size and the bag count when you book and we will suggest the right mix. Traveling with an infant or a child who needs a car seat or booster seat? Request it at booking and we confirm availability for your date.
All vehicles are reserved and chauffeur-driven, with room for carry-ons. If someone in your group uses a wheelchair or mobility scooter, tell us at booking so we can assign a vehicle with the right space. For a full look at the cars, see the Detailed Drivers fleet.
Need the car for longer than a transfer? Book it by the hour. A day of park hopping, a dinner reservation, or an Orlando to Tampa or Space Coast outing works as hourly chauffeur service in Orlando at $120/hr for the sedan with a 3-hour minimum, or $440 for 3 hours in the SUV.
Book as soon as your flight is set. A few dates fill faster than the rest.
Disney and Universal demand peaks, and Allegiant arrivals stack up on the busiest days. Book 30 or more days ahead and reserve the return the same day.
Port Canaveral turnaround days are busy on SR 528. Book 14 or more days ahead and plan to arrive the day before the sailing.
I-4 east toward Daytona Beach slows down during major race and rally weeks. Book early and accept an earlier pickup if the chauffeur suggests one.
48 hours of notice is usually enough. Same-day requests are possible when a vehicle is free; call to check.
Companies that move staff through Sanford and MCO can set up a corporate account with one monthly invoice and priority dispatch.

A private chauffeured transfer from Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) to the Walt Disney World resorts around Disney Springs and Lake Buena Vista is $360 all-in in a Business Sedan, $450 in a First Class SUV, and $910 in a Sprinter Van for up to 14. Resorts near Magic Kingdom sit a little farther out at 49 road miles: $400 sedan or $490 SUV. Gratuity, tax, and card processing are inside the number, the price does not surge when several flights land together, and tolls on SR 417 are confirmed at booking.
About 43 road miles to the Disney Springs and Lake Buena Vista resort area and about 49 to the resorts around Magic Kingdom. The usual route runs south on the SR 417 toll road and then west on SR 408 or I-4. Free-flow driving takes about an hour; plan on 60 to 80 minutes in normal traffic and longer on Friday afternoons or holiday weekends. That is roughly twice the distance from MCO, which is why a reserved ride matters more from Sanford than from the main Orlando airport.
The airport's own airline page lists Allegiant Air as the main carrier, plus Arajet and Sun Country (seasonal or charter). It also lists BermudAir with service beginning in October 2026. Allegiant runs many of its SFB routes on select days of the week rather than daily, so arrival times shift from one trip to the next. Your chauffeur tracks the actual flight, not the time printed on the itinerary.
SFB runs one terminal building. Domestic flights claim bags at Baggage Claim 1, 2, or 3; international arrivals clear Customs and claim at Baggage Claim 6 to 8 on the east side. Your chauffeur waits inside at the claim area for your flight with a name sign, helps with bags, and walks you to the car parked in the pickup zone across the street from the terminal. Text and phone details for the chauffeur arrive with your confirmation.
Yes. SFB to the Port Canaveral cruise terminals is about 67 road miles, mostly SR 417 south and SR 528 east, and takes roughly 85 to 105 minutes. The transfer is $500 all-in in a Business Sedan, $610 in a First Class SUV, and $1,120 in a Sprinter Van. Give us the ship name and sail date at booking so the chauffeur heads to the right terminal. Flying in the day before a sailing is the safer plan, because Allegiant schedules leave little room to recover from a delay.
There is no rail link from the SFB terminal. SunRail, the Central Florida commuter train, has a Sanford station on State Road 46 several miles west of the airport, and its line runs toward downtown Orlando and Poinciana, not to the Disney resorts, so a rail trip still needs a ride at both ends. Shared shuttle companies do serve SFB from the same pickup zone as rideshare and taxis, but they run on their own schedules with stops at other hotels. A private car goes straight to your resort.
SFB to MCO is about 34 road miles via SR 417 south, usually 45 to 60 minutes. A Business Sedan is $310 all-in, a First Class SUV $390, and a Sprinter Van $830. Travelers use it when they fly into Sanford on Allegiant and out of MCO on another airline, or when a family arrives at both airports on the same day.
Yes. Every SFB pickup includes real-time flight tracking. The chauffeur watches your actual arrival, moves the pickup with early landings and delays, and waits for you at baggage claim instead of the curb. There is no surge and no rebooking charge when an evening thunderstorm holds your flight on the ground.
Ask for it when you book and tell us the number of children and their ages. We confirm availability for your date before the trip is finalized. The First Class SUV is the usual choice for families with strollers and theme-park luggage.
Yes. Detailed Drivers runs reserved service 24/7, including late Allegiant arrivals and early morning departures. Book ahead so a chauffeur and vehicle are assigned to your flight. This is a reserved service, not an on-demand app, so same-day requests depend on vehicle availability.
