Lakeway car service is a reserved chauffeur who picks you up anywhere in Lakeway or around Lake Travis and drives you straight to Austin-Bergstrom airport, downtown Austin, the Domain or the Hill Country. A Business Sedan to AUS is $280 all-in for the roughly 27-mile drive, and hourly service starts at $120/hr.
Lakeway is part of the area we cover from the Austin market; see our car service in Austin for the full list of services. Most Lakeway bookings are airport runs through Austin airport car service. Business travelers who want the same vehicle class every time use black car service in Austin, and residents who need a driver for an afternoon book a private driver in Austin by the hour. Lake Travis weddings and anniversaries often call for limo service in Austin or wedding transportation in Austin. Compare vehicles on the Detailed Drivers fleet page or reserve online.
Lakeway fares come from the same rate engine that prices our booking system. One-way trips are priced on real road miles; days with several stops are priced by the hour. The table covers the routes Lakeway clients book most often.

Lakeway is a resort town on the far side of the metro, and that changes the math. App rides are plentiful downtown but thin out west of Loop 360, especially before dawn and late at night. There is no rail line to Lake Travis, and parking at AUS for a week adds up. Here is how the options compare from a Lakeway driveway.
| Option | What it means from Lakeway | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Detailed Drivers | Reserved chauffeur at your door at the time you set, all-in price, flight tracking, help with bags. | Airport runs, early starts, groups, nights out. |
| Uber / Lyft | Fewer drivers nearby before dawn, so wait times and prices can jump; vehicle varies. | Short daytime hops when timing is flexible. |
| Taxi | Taxis are based near downtown and the airport; a call-out to Lake Travis is slow and uncommon. | Rarely practical in Lakeway. |
| CapMetro transit | No rail line serves Lake Travis, and bus service does not reach most of Lakeway. | Not a realistic airport option. |
| Driving yourself | A long drive across town, airport parking fees, and a tired drive home after a late flight. | Short trips you already make every week. |
Most Lakeway rides are airport trips. AUS is on the southeast side of Austin, about 27 road miles from central Lakeway, so the drive crosses the whole city on TX-71. That is a long way to book an app ride at 4:30 a.m. or to find one waiting when you land at midnight. A reserved car removes both problems. On departures, the chauffeur arrives at the time you set, loads the bags and takes the route that suits the hour. On arrivals, the chauffeur tracks the flight, meets you inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal at baggage claim, and drives you home. Our AUS terminal guide explains the airport layout if you have not flown from Austin since the South Terminal closed. A Business Sedan costs $280 each way all-in; a First Class SUV with room for six and their luggage costs $340.
Lakeway has many executives and owners who work downtown, at the Domain, or along the tech corridor to the east and north. A chauffeured ride turns the commute into working time: calls from the back seat, a laptop open, no parking garage at the end. Downtown Austin is about 21 road miles from Lakeway and the Domain about 22. One-way sedan fares are $240 and $250 all-in. Companies that book every week can set up a corporate account through our executive car service in Austin.
Lakeway sits at the edge of the Hill Country. Marble Falls is about 32 road miles northwest and Fredericksburg about 75 miles west on US-290, past dozens of tasting rooms. A winery day works best as an hourly booking: the chauffeur waits at each stop and nobody in your group has to stay sober to drive home. Eight hours in the First Class SUV is $1,160 all-in. Closer to home, a three-hour booking for dinner on the lake is $360 in the Business Sedan, and the car waits outside until you are ready.
Guests at Lakeway Resort and Spa, wedding parties at Lake Travis venues, and golf groups at the clubs in The Hills all need a ride in from AUS and back again, plus a way into Austin for a night out. Groups up to 14 fit in one Sprinter Van with luggage, which keeps everyone together and is usually simpler than three separate cars. For race weekend at Circuit of the Americas, about 36 road miles away, see our Austin F1 transportation page for timing advice.
Lakeway is a city in western Travis County on the south shore of Lake Travis, roughly 25 miles west of downtown Austin by most measures and about 21 road miles by the route we drive. It grew up as a resort and golf community and still feels like one: winding streets, gated neighborhoods, and homes set back from the road, which is why we ask for gate codes and house details at booking. Two roads do most of the work. RM 620 runs north and south through the city toward Bee Cave in one direction and toward Cedar Park and Round Rock in the other. TX-71 runs east from Bee Cave into Austin and on to the airport. Both carry heavy commuter traffic on weekday mornings and evenings, which is why our timings on this page are ranges instead of single numbers.
If you are flying out on a weekday morning, give yourself a buffer. We will suggest a pickup time when you book, based on your flight, the day of the week, and whether you are checking bags.
| Vehicle | Hourly | To AUS | Capacity | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | $120/hr | $280 | 3 pax · 3 bags | one to three travelers, airport and business rides |
| First Class SUV | $150/hr | $340 | 6 pax · 6 bags | families, golf bags, lake weekends |
| Sprinter Van | $240/hr | $770 | 14 pax · 12 bags | groups, weddings and winery days |
The Mercedes S-Class is available on request for an anniversary or a formal evening and is quoted at booking. We do not run stretch limousines or buses; the Sprinter Van is the largest vehicle in the fleet.
Not every Lakeway ride ends in Austin. Some clients prefer San Antonio International for a particular nonstop, parents drive to UT Austin or Southwestern University in Georgetown for move-in day, and wedding guests head to venues in Dripping Springs. These one-way fares use real road miles from central Lakeway.
| Route | Business Sedan | First Class SUV | Sprinter Van | Distance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lakeway → Dripping Springs | $230 | $290 | $700 | 19.5 mi · 35–50 min · RM 620 / US-290 |
| Lakeway → UT Austin campus | $250 | $310 | $720 | 22.4 mi · 40–60 min · TX-71 / MoPac |
| Lakeway → Georgetown | $320 | $400 | $840 | 35.8 mi · 50–75 min · RM 620 / TX-45 |
| Lakeway → San Antonio airport (SAT) | $610 | $760 | $1,310 | 88.4 mi · 1 hr 50 min–2 hr 30 min · US-281 S |
All-in estimates: gratuity, tax and card processing included, rounded to the nearest $10.
San Antonio is the one people ask about most. At roughly 88 road miles, a sedan to SAT costs $610 all-in, which is more than the AUS run but can make sense when the flight saves a connection. We track SAT flights the same way and meet arrivals inside the terminal.
For a trip that is mostly driving with a stop or two, such as a college visit with lunch on campus, ask about an hourly booking instead. Once the trip runs past three or four hours with waiting, hourly pricing is often the simpler and fairer way to pay, and the chauffeur stays with you the whole time.
For most Lakeway rides, booking a day ahead is enough. A few weeks each year need more notice, because demand for chauffeurs across Austin jumps and the drive out to Lake Travis means fewer cars nearby on short notice.
Weekday mornings deserve a note of their own. A 7 a.m. pickup in Lakeway heading to the Domain or downtown meets the full commuter load on RM 620 and MoPac, so we add margin to the pickup time rather than promise a drive time the roads will not deliver. Evening returns from AUS between 4 and 7 p.m. carry the same caveat in the other direction.
Planning a group trip, such as a bachelor weekend at a lake house or a family reunion at the resort? Send us the full schedule at once. We can price every leg, hold the same vehicle for the weekend, and send one confirmation with all the times on it, which is much easier than booking ride by ride.
Airport fares, timing, hourly bookings and Hill Country trips from Lakeway.
A car service from Lakeway to Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) is $280 all-in in the Business Sedan, $340 in the First Class SUV, and $770 in the Sprinter Van for up to 14 passengers. The trip is about 27 road miles. Gratuity, tax and card fees are included, and the price does not surge.
Plan on 45 minutes with clear roads and up to 70 minutes at rush hour. Lakeway sits on the west side of the metro, so every route to AUS crosses Austin on TX-71 or MoPac. For a morning flight we usually suggest leaving at least two and a half hours before departure.

Yes. The chauffeur meets you at the marina entrance or the closest point a car can legally stop, then helps carry bags and coolers to the vehicle. Yes. Book both legs at once: the departure run from your door and the return pickup with your inbound flight number. Each leg is priced separately, so a round trip in the Business Sedan is two fares of $280 each, all-in. If your return flight changes, tell us and we move the pickup.
Yes. We schedule Lakeway pickups around the clock, including pre-dawn airport runs and late returns from downtown Austin. It is a reserved service, so book at least 24 hours ahead when you can.
